From the Desk of Brent Coralli – Elite Soccer Club Comes to Hutto

As many of you know, I’ve been lucky enough to be CEO of Sting Soccer since 2007. Currently, we have more than 90 teams in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, 35 teams throughout New Mexico and are expanding in Austin and San Antonio.

As a matter of fact, The Hutto News – a newspaper serving the suburban-Austin area – recently wrote about our growth in Austin – - Elite soccer club comes to Hutto.

In the article, Director of Coaching Oscar Draguicevich – a former MLS player – says 16 teams have already signed up and he plans to expand to 30 teams of all ages.  Joining Oscar on the coaching staff is Texas Lutheran University alum Danny Oughton, T.J. Stowell, Clint Osbon, Jamie Meshew and Director of Club Operations Jessica Kim.

Danny, T.J., Clint and Jamie are our latest coaches who will help develop our girls on and off the field. To become a teacher, one must complete years of study, become certified and meet certain standards for employment. In coaching, you often find well-intentioned parents with little or no experience in soccer or in teaching methods and child development. Here at Sting, we put our emphasis on hiring qualified coaches.

Whether in the Metroplex, New Mexico, Austin or soon-to-be San Antonio our mission is and will continue to be the idea of The Education of Life Through Soccer. Teaching the importance of having a strong moral foundation and building strong, young females in a way that is conducive to player development and advancement.

I’m very proud of our program that had 75 players from our 2013 graduating class commit to play college soccer. Colleges and universities such as: Notre Dame, Texas A&M and Arkansas, to name a few. Just as important and impressive for me is to see the maturation of young girls to smart, strong, resilient leaders. This maturation take place – in part – because of our emphasis of pride, tradition, character, commitment and leadership.

This is something humbling to me and everyone associated with Sting and something we never take for granted. On behalf of the Sting staff I want to personally thank every parent who has allowed us to be a part of your child’s life.

Moving forward, I will periodically post about the latest happenings and goings-on within the Sting Soccer Community and the soccer world as a whole.
